Health & Safety Policy

The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 places a duty on all employers to have a Health & Safety Policy. The policy should be in written form if there are 5 or more employees. We can issue you with a policy tailored to your organisations structure and requirements. The policy is an important tool in setting quantifiable targets and provides evidence of managements commitment to Health & Safety.

Competent Person

All employers are required by law to appoint a competent person to assist them in meeting their Health & Safety obligations. We can provide a competent person or we can provide expert advice to support your inhouse competent person on matters of Health & Safety.

Risk Assessments / Method Statements

All workplaces with 5 or more employees are required to provide written risk assessments which are readily available to employees. The risk assessment procedure will identify the risks present which will need to be controlled.

More hazardous activities often require specific Methods Statements to be written, in order to identify a safe system of work that controls the operation.

Accident Investigation

Investigating accidents and near misses can help identify the root causes, and preventative measures required. The accident investigation report can also provide important evidence in any future defence against a claim.
